A Note about COVID-19: North Beach Therapeutics is open for In-person Osteopathic Manual Therapy.

The following are guidelines to help you prepare for your in-person, clinic appointment.

COVID Update: With masking mandates being lifted provincially on June 11, 2022, North Beach Therapeutics wanted to give you an update on what to expect when you attend your appointment. Although masks are no longer mandatory and are optional, due to the significant amount of time spent with you in close proximity, the clinic policy is to recommend that patient and practitioner continue to wear masks for health and safety. This will be considered on an individual basis. Pre-screening questionnaires are no longer necessary, but we do ask that if you are not feeling well, let us know so that we may reschedule your appointment.   • Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the time of your appointment to ensure social distancing between patients.
  • Contactless payment is the preferred method of payment (e-Transfer or credit card ) followed by an emailed receipt.

Osteopathy is a client-centred discipline that is based on understanding the relationship between structure and function in order to enhance the body’s inherent ability to move towards homeostasis (balance). Osteopathic Manual Therapists (OMP's) rely on skilled manual assessment, techniques and modalities, in order to identify and ease restrictions, constriction and pain; reduce swelling; improve tissue mobility; and promote proper function and healing in people of all ages.

Christine has been practicing manual therapy for over 20 years, graduating as an RMT in 1999, and from the Canadian College of Osteopathy (CCO) in 2011. Christine presented her thesis (a requirement for graduating from the CCO) on “normalization of the dura in a population with lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) using grip strength”. Since then, Christine has taken numerous continuing education courses including the Still Technique, Scar tissue and adhesions, Mild traumatic Brain injuries (including concussions), endocranial spasm courses 1-3, migraines and cranial nerve moblization. Continuing education is integral to being a member of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners.
